Resident praises Des Moines police stance on not actively assisting ICE

She described her public‑safety background and asked the council to "keep up the good work" and to remain aligned with the community’s views.
Cox cited concerns about other jurisdictions where sheriffs or local agencies have pursued agreements with ICE, and she urged Des Moines to continue its approach to protecting residents and public safety.
Her comments were received during the public comment portion of the meeting; no formal council action was taken on her remarks during the session.
