Fire chief seeks approval to buy four radios to meet NFPA compliance

“This is for 4 radios. I don't know why I wrote 6 down there but we found some pretty good deals on some used radios. If we can get 4 of them, not to exceed $8,835, that'll put us 5 away from completing the project,” Fire Chief (name not specified) told the council. He said the purchase was discussed during budget talks and that money for the purchase is available in the appropriate line item.
Council members asked no substantive follow-up questions at the committee meeting and the mayor asked the item be placed on the regular agenda for formal approval. No vote to purchase was taken at the committee meeting; the request will return on the regular agenda where a formal motion and vote can occur.
