Norfolk County awards three fuel contracts for 2025–2028 purchasing cycle

The contracts were presented by the purchasing agent and, where shown in the procurement record, cover a three‑year term from Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 30, 2028. Staff said some volume discounts were available for diesel but not for the other fuel categories. Why it matters: Locking in suppliers and prices aims to provide price stability for county fleets and the South Shore Purchasing Cooperative members through the three‑year period identified in the contracts. Discussion and process: Purchasing staff said Quincy procurement staff advised initiating bids early to lock prices before current contracts expire in September. The purchasing agent described winners for each fuel category and confirmed prior work relationships with some vendors. Vote: Commissioners moved and seconded each award in open session and recorded the approvals for the advertised contract period. The contracts will proceed to procurement signatory procedures.
