BROCKTON, Mass. — The Brockton City Council on July 28 granted a petition to transfer a garage license for 1015 Main Street to the applicant Khadija Karimi.
At the public hearing the applicant, who gave her residence as 431 Putnam Avenue, Cambridge, said she recently took title to the business and asked the council to approve the license transfer. "I'm committed to ensuring the garage operates in compliance with all city codes and continues to serve the community responsibly," Karimi told the council. The clerk noted the fire department had no objections and that required paperwork was on file.
Councilor McCastro, whose ward includes the business, welcomed Karimi to the ward and said she supported the transfer. No public speakers registered opposition during the hearing. The council closed the public portions of the hearing and granted the license transfer by hand vote.
The applicant was wished success by councilors; city staff will complete the licensing paperwork and update records.
