School board approves curriculum materials, therapy contract, warrants and personnel items

The Farmersville Unified School District board on July 15 approved multiple routine but operationally significant items including curriculum materials training, a therapy contract renewal, payroll/finance warrants and personnel approvals. Trustees voted unanimously to approve the adoption of 95% group intervention materials training. The motion was made by Trustee John Alvarez and seconded by Trustee Merced Zamora; the board recorded the vote as "Aye" and the motion carried 5-0. The board also approved renewal of a contract with ProCare Therapy for the 2025-26 school year. Trustee Freddy Espinosa moved the contract renewal, seconded by Trustee Sabrina Gomez; the motion carried unanimously. The board authorized release warrants dated July 17, 2025, in the amount of $136,001.21. Trustee Sabrina Gomez moved the warrant approval, seconded by Merced Zamora; the board voted in favor and the motion carried. On personnel matters, trustees approved certificated personnel items (13.1.01 through 13.1.07) and classified personnel items (13.2.01 through 13.2.09) by recorded motions from trustees with votes recorded as carried. One abstention was recorded on a classified item (13.2.03) as noted in the meeting record. Trustees also approved the California Teaching Fellows agreement for 2025-26 after a motion by John Alvarez and second by Merced Zamora; that motion carried without objection. These approvals cover intervention materials, therapy services, payroll disbursements and personnel appointments necessary for operations ahead of the new school year.
