Board continues fence variance at 3088 Truman Boulevard after notice error

The Seminole County Board of Adjustment on July 28 continued a variance request for a privacy fence at 3088 Truman Boulevard after staff and the county attorney identified a problem with the public notice.
Development Services told the board the application was for a front/side setback variance for a privacy fence, but the agenda packet misidentified the side of Lincoln Avenue where the fence sits (east versus west). Assistant county counsel recommended continuing the item so the county could correct the legal description and re-notice any affected property owners. "I recommend, pushing this to a date certain so this little issue can be fixed," the attorney said.
Board members agreed and voted to continue the matter to the board's next meeting so staff could fix the paperwork and ensure proper notice. Staff indicated the applicant would be placed at the top of the next agenda and staff would coordinate on the outstanding code-enforcement citation referenced in the packet.
No action on the merits of the fence was taken; the continuation delays any final determination until the corrected notice and additional materials can be circulated.
