Council directs traffic study for three-way stop at Grant Boulevard and Angelie Way

Council member John Copeland reported multiple resident requests for a three-way stop at the intersection of Grant Boulevard and Angelie Way, citing safety concerns for children and new development in the area.
John said he had spoken with city engineer Kevin Krolick, who told the council staff will collect traffic counts and perform a warrant analysis once school resumes, because accurate counts depend on school traffic. Krolick said the analysis will use projected traffic for build-out of Angelie Gardens and sections 4 and 5 of Auburn Meadows to produce a recommended course of action.
"We will be counting that intersection. But we can't get accurate counts until the kids go back to school," Krolick said. Copeland asked staff to proceed with the study; Krolick confirmed the department will include forecasted traffic and provide a warrant analysis to the council. Residents at the meeting also said a similar three-way stop installed on Lafayette Avenue had significantly improved safety there.
