City engineers report progress on Grant Street, Eichmann building and warn crossing arms at 450 North are not functioning

Engineering department representative Kevin Krolick told the Lebanon Board of Public Works and Safety that multiple infrastructure projects are moving forward and flagged a public-safety issue at a LEAP district railroad crossing. Krolick said Grant Street Phase 2 has a low bidder, Midwest Paving, and the city has received an invoice for a $1,200,000 local match that is already funded in current appropriations.

Krolick said the local match and other committed funds — including about $970,000 in commitments from Lebanon Utilities and construction grant money from the Indiana Department of Transportation — leave a healthy balance in the appropriation as the city prepares to move the project into construction. He told the board the invoice for the local match was included in the claims for the evening’s meeting.
