Green Bay Road reconstruction meeting scheduled; trustee seeks public update on Flock cameras

Village administrators on July 20 reminded residents that the next public meeting for the Green Bay Road reconstruction project will be an open-house from 5–8 p.m. Wednesday at the Public Safety Building. Staff said engineers and public-safety officials will be available to answer questions about construction timing and operations.

During trustee reports, a trustee congratulated police and fire personnel on their response during a recent bike race and asked for a future public update on the newly implemented Flock license-plate reader camera system. The trustee requested a report in a few months summarizing whether the cameras have produced safety benefits or usable investigative leads that can be shared publicly; the police chief agreed to provide an update.

Village staff noted the Green Bay Road meeting will include detailed plans and consultants on hand to show the scope of improvements and construction staging. The meeting is the third public meeting on the project and the village expects robust turnout as the project nears the construction phase.

Trustees also praised the village works department for post-event cleanup after recent summer events, citing prompt and thorough work by crews.

The Green Bay Road project’s design materials and any follow-up reports on public-safety camera results will be provided at future meetings or as staff reports when available.
