The Common Council on July 8 adopted a resolution to dedicate office space within Buffalo City Hall to the 5/14 Memorial Foundation to house its executive director, who the foundation recently named as Chad Houston.
A presenter for the resolution described the city's support for the memorial project and said the foundation needs temporary space for an executive director while a permanent facility is secured. The resolution passed on the floor and councilmembers asked that Community Development be notified to coordinate the accommodation and any follow‑up arrangements.
The council did not appropriate funds as part of the action; the resolution concerns use of city space and administrative coordination. Chad Houston was named in remarks as the foundation’s new executive director; councilmembers congratulated the foundation and supported offering interim space in City Hall.
