Eddy County commissioners on Tuesday accepted a $10,000 donation from ConocoPhillips to Eddy County Fire and Rescue to support equipment purchases.

Chief Mack (Fire and Rescue) described the annual gift and said this year the department received $10,000 in April and used it to purchase McGrath scopes to aid field operations. A ConocoPhillips representative told the commission the company supports local initiatives and was pleased to offer the annual grant to the county fire and rescue department.

Commissioners thanked the donor and approved acceptance of the donation by motion and unanimous voice vote.
