County approves engagement with law firm to update employee handbook

Wright described the last handbook date on file as "10/2017" and said departments should submit any changes so the firm can incorporate them. A commissioner noted that Terry had reviewed the contract the night before and raised no objections. The board moved, seconded and approved the engagement.
The engagement replaces the existing handbook documents and will be used to compile a consolidated, updated employee handbook. The contract was presented as a letter of engagement and will be executed with Wagner, Erwin & Shealy and Associates. Commissioners did not specify a timeline for draft delivery during the discussion.
