Daytona Beach commissioners on June 4 introduced four separate zoning ordinances on first reading and scheduled public hearings and final action for June 18. The items introduced were: - Waypoint Plan District First Amendment: rezoning and plan amendment for roughly 415 acres east of Tomoka Farms Road to allow more flexible residential types, self-storage and RV storage, and revised development standards. - Williamson Crossing second amendment: rezoning 1.38 acres near LPGA Boulevard and North Williamson Boulevard to permit vehicle repair and servicing as a use in the plan district. - O’Connor Capital Plan District Fourth Amendment: rezoning about 184.85 acres near Strickland Range Road and Williamson Boulevard to allow single-family residential uses and revise development criteria in the mixed-use area. - Daytona Auto Mall Seventh Amendment: revise development criteria to allow a furniture or appliance store within the planned commercial development. Staff described the items as typical plan-district amendments that change allowable uses and development standards. Each item was introduced on first reading; the public hearing and final action were scheduled for the commission’s June 18 meeting so that affected neighbors and interested parties can comment. What it does not do yet: introduction does not approve final rezoning; final approval will require the public hearing and vote on June 18.
