County opens Evolution Innovation Challenge final event to public; semifinalists chosen

Officials said 40 total applications produced 12 semifinalists who will pitch behind closed doors, with a six-team final slated for March 27 at the Ocean Center. The final is free but requires registration through the county's business-resources site. Staff highlighted past winners and alumni outcomes, noting at least one early winner later secured a major funding round that reached $9 million. County representatives promoted the event as an opportunity to spotlight local startups and entrepreneurs and invited advisory-board members and the public to attend the final presentation.
