District presents triennial wellness review under policy 6.5; broader review planned in three years

Administrators said they used an ISBE questionnaire and other resources to assemble the report and will expand stakeholder participation for the next cycle. A staff member summarized the review and highlighted Chartwells’ role in providing school meals and the strength of the district’s health, physical education and driver’s education programs. “Chartwells has done an excellent job for us,” a staff member said. The review also examined PE exemptions, low-income student access, and other data the district will monitor going forward. Administrators told the board the next formal wellness review will bring a larger team of voices earlier in the process, and that the district will track indicators and state data to guide future updates.
