General employees board approved the retirement application of Michael Taylor, utility plant superintendent for Water Plant and Public Works. The motion to approve was made by a general employee board member and seconded; the retirement was approved by voice vote.
The board approved Alan David Thompson, GIS engineering designer for Beaches Energy, with a backdrop retirement effective July 1, 2017; separation date June 30, 2020; and service retirement of 33 years, 3 months.
Trustees also approved Ernest Knowles, cut-in/cut-out technician, meter shop, Beaches Energy. Staff noted a correction: Knowles separation date had been changed after the meeting packet was prepared. The corrected separation date is May 31, 2020, making the retirement effective June 1, 2020; his backdrop retirement was recorded as effective June 1, 2017, and his service was 17 years, 7 months. The board moved and seconded approval and voted in favor.
Motions on the retirements were made by trustees and seconded; votes were recorded as "aye" with no recorded objections for these items. Staff clarified that service requirements and effective dates were reviewed during the votes.
