Assessor to release RFPs for cyclical reassessment and new-construction studies; pickup Aug. 1–8

Boone County will release two requests for proposals: one for mandated cyclical reassessment (physically inspecting parcels once every four years, per state guidance) and another for new-construction valuation, ratio studies and related appraisal services. The assessor requested permission to publish the RFPs and noted the current vendor contract expires at the end of the calendar year.
Why it matters: Reassessment and ratio studies are required components of property tax administration that determine assessed values across the county. Timely procurement is necessary so work can proceed under the state-mandated schedule.
Assessor Jennifer Lasley (presenting) said the cyclical reassessment RFP will be available for pickup Aug. 1–8; proposals must be resubmitted by Aug. 11 at 4 p.m., questions answered by Aug. 18 at 4 p.m., and final responses received by Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. The new-construction and ratio-study RFP is on the same timetable. The presenter said prior procurements sometimes attracted only one vendor and that the RFPs will be listed in the paper and on the county website; vendors must reach out to pick up full documents.
A commissioner moved to approve release of the RFPs and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Ending: Staff will publish the RFPs on the stated schedule and accept proposals per the advertised deadlines.
