Council accepts substantial-completion certificate for 2024 CCMG project and final acceptance of Primrose sewer

The council accepted a certificate of substantial completion for the 2024 CCMG (Community Crossings Matching Grant) project and approved final acceptance of sewer work for the Primrose development at its July 23 meeting.
Town Engineer Drew Flaney told council the certificate of substantial completion indicates the project is ready for its intended use and that acceptance triggers the contractor's one-year warranty period. The engineer reported the contractor will complete punch-list items within two weeks and that final grading and seeding will follow once temperatures cool, likely in August or early September. The engineer recommended the council execute the certificate dated June 12, 2025. Council voted to accept the recommendation and execute the certificate.
Flaney also reported on the Primrose sewer project, which is located off Lincoln Avenue just east of Grama Road and outside the town's corporate limits. The sewer installation comprises approximately 1,300 linear feet; the developer passed testing and the work met the applicable standards, the engineer said. The council approved final acceptance of the sewer work for town maintenance. The engineer gave the approximate total cost of the sewer work as about $107,000 for the record.
Both motions carried on voice votes.
