Appointments committee reappoints parks commissioner and advances another nominee

The Board of Alders appointments committee voted to forward Carl Bob’s nomination to the Commission on Parks, Programs and Recreational Facilities.

Bob told the committee he has long worked with youth and values bringing programming into neighborhood parks. He advocated using rangers to engage communities and suggested the commission examine fee structures for outside users of city facilities to ensure residents’ access.

Committee members described Bob as a long‑time partner with the parks department and moved his nomination favorably; the motion carried by voice vote. The full Board of Alders will take the confirmation up at a subsequent meeting.
