PELHAM, Ala. — The Pelham Board of Education received updates July 28 on two facilities projects: a forthcoming bid for a new stadium concession and restroom project and the nearing completion of a high-school "van room" renovation.
Superintendent Doctor Costanza told the board that the bid date for the new stadium concession and bathroom work is Aug. 28. Work on that project will be advertised with a bid opening on that date, staff said.
Separately, the high school's van room renovation is approaching final inspection; staff said a final inspection is scheduled for Aug. 4, which would allow the architect to sign off and provide a certificate of occupancy if inspection items are satisfied. Remaining items include audiovisual equipment, acoustical panels and installation of a roll-up door, Costanza said.
No formal board action was required for the informational report. Board members thanked staff and noted a fast timeline as the district prepares for the start of school in early August.
