Board authorizes MnDOT local partnership agreement for County Road 137; bids to open next week

Wright County commissioners on Tuesday adopted a county‑MnDOT local partnership agreement to proceed to bid for the County Road 137 project. County staff said the agreement secures MnDOT’s participation and sets a $1 million cap for the state contribution; final costs will be set after bids are opened. Public works staff explained that after the board approves the agreement the county will open bids (scheduled for Aug. 4) and bring a bid‑summary to a special meeting (the board planned a meeting to consider bids on Aug. 5). The county will then modify the agreement to reflect actual bid prices. Project staff acknowledged the likely construction cost will exceed the $1 million state cap and said the county will “take what we can get” from the partnership. Commissioners thanked county staff for advancing the project after months of coordination with MnDOT and local cities; a motion to accept the resolution passed unanimously.
