Summary
The Davenport Park and Recreation Advisory Board on July 17 approved the June meeting minutes, recorded no public comment, reviewed staff reports, and adjourned the meeting to board—9s annual park inspection via trolley; the next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 21 at City Hall.
The Davenport Park and Recreation Advisory Board approved the June meeting minutes and then adjourned July 17 to begin its annual park inspection by trolley, the board chair said.
At roll call the chair noted the board had two new representatives present: Mark Barling for the Eighth Ward and a new representative for the Fifth Ward. The chair opened the meeting, introduced the new members and conducted roll call; no members announced abstention on the minutes, and the motion to approve the June minutes was moved and seconded and recorded as approved.
The chair said there were no members of the public present for public comment. The chair also noted staff member Chris was not present and directed board members to the July staff report for details. The chair proposed using travel time on the trolley to discuss staff reports and other business during the park visits; board members agreed.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Aug. 21 at City Hall. After a short discussion about distributing a brochure related to EMIs Golf Course replacement, the chair moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting so members could proceed to the trolley waiting outside the back door; the motion carried and board members left the chambers for the site visits.
No formal votes on staff recommendations or on the EMIs brochure/fundraising request were recorded in the meeting minutes during the July 17 session.
