Spyglass traffic study presentation delayed; engineering staff to deliver report at next meeting

Hatem Mecke, representing City of Fishers Engineering, told the board on July 29 that a planned presentation of the Spyglass-area traffic study was not ready for the meeting. Mecke said model iterations and updated variables identified as recently as the night before required additional run time to produce consistent results, so staff postponed the public presentation.
Mecke said traffic counts and queue analyses were completed across intersections from Cumberland to Hoosier and that additional model runs are underway to hold variables constant across locations and ensure comparable results. He told the board the written report can be made available by the next Board of Works meeting and that a presentation with recommendations would follow.
Board members asked staff to share the draft report link with neighborhood liaisons before the presentation. Mecke apologized for the delay and said the department would coordinate with communications staff to distribute the report and schedule the full presentation at a subsequent meeting.
