Council deletes earlier Civil Rights Commission item and advances amended resolution affirming commission independence

Alderman McGinnis offered a narrow amendment to replace a gendered pronoun in Section 3; the amendment changed "his supervision" to "the administrator's supervision." Alderman Lynch seconded the change and the roll call recorded 10 yes votes for the amendment. Councilors said earlier concerns had been addressed after consultation with staff and Director Lacey.
