County staff to add $40,000 VSP contract amendment from Conservation Commission to August agenda

County staff told the Board of Commissioners that the Washington State Conservation Commission has issued an amendment to the county’s Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP) contract, adding $40,000 for a new VSP guideline for capital projects. The VSP contract runs through the Mason Conservation District.
Staff proposed adding the amendment to the same board agenda item as the original VSP contract on Aug. 5 so commissioners can consider both documents together. Commissioners agreed staff should circulate the amendment in advance and brief it at the next meeting so questions can be addressed prior to action.
No formal approval took place at the briefing; staff said they will place the amendment and the original contract on the Aug. 5 action agenda and provide copies for review beforehand.
