The Historic Preservation Advisory Board on July 24 recommended approval of a certificate of appropriateness (CA44‑2025) for new signage at 117 West Marion Avenue, a commercial building constructed in 1920 and listed on the local register.
Staff told the board the application met standards of review. During the public discussion a board member asked whether both the projecting sign and building sign were included; staff confirmed both were under consideration. One board member complimented one of the designs but said the two proposed signs (a Wildwood‑style square sign and a round projecting sign) appeared visually different and suggested a closer design match for consistency along the street.
The motion to recommend approval passed with no recorded opposition. The recommendation will be forwarded to the zoning official for the final permit decision.
