After adjourning to executive session, Hutchinson County Commissioners returned to open session and approved two actions originating in closed session: an immediate salary increase for county employee Richard Hein and authorization for the sheriff’s office to pursue purchase of NCAR laptops.
The court voted to raise Richard Hein’s salary to $80,000 effective immediately. The court also approved a motion permitting the sheriff’s office to pursue the NCAR laptops through a state cooperative purchasing program; if the laptops are not available through the coop, the sheriff is authorized to open a formal bid process. The funds for the laptop purchases are to come from the county contingency if needed.
Both actions were made by motion, seconded and approved by voice vote on the record following the executive-session period.
