LACONIA, N.H. — Leaders from the Laconia Housing Authority asked the City Council on July 28 to back a request that would direct $700,000 in state congregate housing services program (CHSP) funds to Laconia.
Kathy Bowler, executive director of the Laconia Housing Authority, told the council that the CHSP pilot previously received $750,000 and served 38 residents, and that she and advocates were successful in getting $700,000 included in the most recent state budget. "This program is, was awarded to Manchester and Laconia. We are the only 2 in the state who received funding for the pilot program," Bowler said.
