Residents request copy of Engle Creek study; committee answers questions on recent public-works purchases and emergency repairs

During the same public-works meeting, a Ward 3 resident asked staff to explain several recent warrant-report items. Staff clarified that $94,000 listed for Midwest Supply was for outfitting a replacement snowplow chassis purchased in the previous fiscal year, not for water-service-line copper purchases. Staff also explained that a large payment to LW (LW Construction) related to an emergency North Trunk Line repair involved hiring TRACO equipment and operator services while the city purchased materials separately to reduce total cost.

Next steps: The Engle Creek study will be presented on Aug. 27 and staff said they will distribute the report to affected residents in advance. Staff will follow up with details on the warrant-report line items and provide invoice specifics at the next committee meeting.
