Crown Point, Ind. — Planning commissioners voted July 28 to approve a site expansion for Dynadome, a local firm that manufactures retractable structures, but conditioned final recordation on correction of a legal description in the survey documents.
Staff reported the property had prior variances approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals and that the petitioner has current code violations related to outdoor storage that the proposed building addition will help address. Notices to adjacent property owners were mailed and a public notice was published; staff recommended approval but noted a survey legal description needed correction before mylars could be signed.
Commission discussion noted the applicant has been working with staff to address violations and that engineering and building approvals would follow site‑development review. A motion to approve the petition subject to correction of the legal description and staff comments passed unanimously.
