El Dorado Chamber reports membership growth, new programming and Goldfest plans

Greg, representing the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, gave a combined first- and second-quarter update to the city commission on May 19, reporting membership growth, new programming and festival planning.
Greg said the chamber's annual dinner drew about 171 attendees and the newly reformed Women in Business group held a successful first event. The chamber has added 15 new members since the start of the year and launched a "Did You Know" weekly business feature and a lunch-and-learn series; attendance at monthly "chamber chats" rose to 36, 43 and 32 in recent months. He said the Butler Chamber initiative — a cooperative effort across Butler County — had 124 attendees at its first event and will hold a full- or half-day workshop next year.
Upcoming events and plans Greg listed included Chamber University (public-speaking series), a member appreciation lunch on June 12 at the Training Depot (pending city coordination), a new member mingle, and mud volleyball as a kickoff event for Gold Fest on Sept. 27. The chamber is coordinating with other event organizers including Oz Events, the Oil Museum and others to avoid scheduling conflicts. Greg invited commissioners to ask questions; none were filed beyond expressions of appreciation for the chamber's activity.
