The Vermillion County Board of Commissioners approved an updated budget consulting agreement to continue work with Scott Craig (Cox, Werner, Gavel & Sullivan) on fiscal reports for the auditor and county council. Commissioners said the firm has provided consulting since about 2019–2020 and approved a renewal of services.

The board also approved the purchase of a retired Hewlett‑Packard laptop from the coroner’s office; county technology staff said the device had been wiped of county data and valued at $175. A motion to allow the county employee to purchase the device was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Both items were presented as routine housekeeping; commissioners said funding exists in budget line items to cover consultant fees and the asset sale followed the county’s prior practice in similar cases.
