Board approves $20,700 inspection supplemental to close Brookside Park storm sewer project

The Stormwater Advisory Board approved a $20,700 supplemental payment to Versus Engineering for construction inspection services on the Brookside Park storm sewer replacement, bringing Versus’s contract total to $205,546 and completing the project’s outstanding invoices. Renee Rafla, director of public works, said the Brookside Park project’s completion date had been scheduled for July 2024 but finishing the inspection services took longer than expected. Versus submitted an invoice in early July for $20,700 for inspection work; staff recommended approval so the city can finalize procurement closeout and accounting for the project. Rafla told the board that the main construction contract with Midwest Paving did not require an increase and that funds exist to pay the supplemental inspection invoice. Ron (Rob) Schleifer moved to approve the supplemental payment; Tracy Boyd seconded. The board voted in favor with no recorded opposition. The action completes Versus Engineering’s work on the Brookside Park storm sewer replacement and, staff said, should prevent additional contract increases for the project.
