The Euclid City Council on June 2 adopted Emergency Ordinance 065-25 authorizing Indigo Golf LLC, on behalf of the director of parks and recreation, to retain an architect, prepare specifications and solicit bids for a comprehensive bunker renovation at Briardale Greens Golf Course and enter contracts for labor and materials.

Administration said the bunkers were the most pressing capital need identified in a March 10 recreation committee meeting with the course’s management company (Troon/Indigo). City staff reported Briardale generated approximately $1.7 million in revenue in 2024 and a net operating income of a little over $400,000; those operating funds are available to support the renovation work. Troon’s vice president, Nick Bedner, told the committee the project was expected to come in well under $500,000 if bids align with his estimate.

Council members praised the course as a city asset and supported moving forward. Councilman Matillo asked whether bids over $500,000 would return to council or go to the Board of Control; administration said the solicitation will proceed and the best bid would be presented to the Board of Control for contract award. The council voted to suspend the rules and passed the emergency ordinance unanimously.

Staff said the work could be stretched across months to avoid interrupting play and that the expense will be recorded to the golf course operating fund; project timing and final contractor selections will depend on the solicitation and Board of Control review.
