Summary
The commissioners approved a cooperative contract through Omnia Partners (contract 158057, solicitation 24-S844) to allow the county to piggyback regional pricing for office supplies while retaining competitive procurement for individual orders.
The Saint Joseph County Board of Commissioners on July 8 approved a cooperative contract through Omnia Partners that allows the county to use Region 14's educational service center contract for office supplies and services. Brie Roberts, director of physical assets, said the contract number is 158057 under solicitation 24‑S844 (Region 14 ESC, Abilene, Texas) and that the county’s local supplier Office360 (AOPD local division) is among vendors available through the cooperative.
Roberts said piggybacking on the Omnia Partners contract provides discounts on a list of items but does not make the contract exclusive; county procurement will continue to seek the best price for each office supply order. Commissioners commended staff for continuing to look for competitive pricing even when discounts are available through the cooperative.
The board approved the cooperative contract by voice vote. No exclusive purchasing commitment or specific dollar amounts were authorized at the meeting.
