The Saint Joseph County Board of Commissioners on June 24 approved HRP Construction change order No. 5 for the Larson Road lift station and force main replacement, increasing the contract by $253,775 and granting a 120-day extension to a new final completion date of July 18, 2025.
Skye Meadors described the change order as covering wet-well modifications, larger castings and the addition of protective coatings on certain fittings, and confirmed there was also a scope item related to a pole-mounted transformer. Meadors said staff expect a final change order later to reconcile remaining items.
Meadors told the board the document and cost had been reviewed by multiple staff prior to the meeting. The motion to approve change order No. 5 passed by voice vote recorded as: Commissioner Morton — Aye; Commissioner Hazen — Aye; Commissioner Baxter — Aye.
Staff said they expect the next change order to be administrative to close out remaining contract items; the approval increases the contract to $11,376,985.50 and extends the schedule to July 18, 2025.
