St. Joseph County assessor schedules extra town hall on property assessments June 7

"The confusion of s b 1 has has definitely changed the environment in a way that we need to continue to be out front," Caslon said, explaining why the assessor’s office expanded its outreach. He said the initial town hall drew many residents and some asked for an additional meeting; "we'll be having additional town hall meeting on June 7 to be held in this room from 10 to noon," he said.
Caslon said security at meetings is important "to ensure that our taxpayers feel safe and and have a place where they can come and and express their their concerns with property assessments." He also thanked the commissioners for supporting the town-hall format and encouraged elected officials to attend.
