The St. Joseph County Council’s Budget Administration Committee on Tuesday voted to send favorably several budget moves from the Department of Physical Assets that leaders said will fund equipment purchases and pay adjustments intended to retain experienced maintenance staff.
Department leaders told the committee the packet included a $12,000 transfer into a newly created fleet equipment line, a $23,037 salary amendment and transfer to reclassify a maintenance specialist to a building systems specialist, and a larger transfer to cover contracted housekeeping services and related expenses.
