At its July 24 meeting the Board of Commissioners approved several human resources items: two job descriptions for long‑term care services, an amendment to a Department of Corrections wage adjustment previously approved on April 24, 2025, and an exception allowing overtime under policy 7‑11 for a corrections investigator/safety compliance position.
The board approved a motion to add a resident program specialist position and a resident program assistant (effective Aug. 24, 2025) after staff told commissioners both job descriptions had been vetted with legal counsel. The senior director of human resources recommended the hires; staff said they had coordinated with departments and counsel before presenting the items.
The board also voted to amend the wage adjustment previously approved April 24 to reflect a corrected percentage increase for corrections personnel of 12.36%. The motion to amend was presented by the senior director and passed by recorded vote.
Finally, the board approved an exception request (7‑11) to permit overtime for a Department of Corrections position (investigation and safety compliance coordinator). Staff explained the role is outside the union and therefore requires an annual exception to permit overtime for the position. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the need for the exception and were told the procedure is a recurring, yearly administrative step.
The human resources items were approved during the public session; motions passed by recorded votes as noted in the meeting minutes.
