The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners approved a sole‑source contract with Air Resource Specialists Incorporated to provide air monitoring and analysis for the county public health department.

County staff and Public Health Director Joshua Williams told the board the firm has provided monitoring, equipment maintenance and reporting for many years; staff said they had sought alternatives previously but that the county’s monitoring needs are specialized. The contract amount is not to exceed $117,759.

Commissioners approved the contract by voice vote. Staff said Air Resource Specialists will deliver annual reports and continue maintenance of monitoring equipment under the new contract.
