Kelly Curry, RFCDC executive director, told commissioners the overall project already has secured $935,000 from the Division of Housing and includes multiple infrastructure repairs: two bridge replacements, distribution‑system pipe replacements, relocating a pump house out of the floodplain, a new well/redrill and a 10,000‑gallon storage tank to improve drinking‑water quality and provide fire‑suppression storage. The grant request to the Colorado River District seeks partial funding specifically for the drinking‑water upgrades.
Commissioners said they had supported the project previously (floodplain permitting and the Prop 123 opt‑in) and moved to sign the grant‑support letter. The board approved the motion unanimously; commissioners said a groundbreaking is expected in early fall.
