The Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission authorized a printing contract for a new visitor's guide at its June 23 meeting, approving a staff recommendation to print 20,000 copies.
Sarah Key, marketing lead, told the commission that the organization selected Roark Group to print the guide and that the 20,000‑copy run is approximately 25% more than the last hard‑copy guide. Key recommended the commission authorize the interim CEO to accept a Roark quote of $28,302.90 for printing and a supply of mailing envelopes.
Commissioner Mike Whitaker moved to authorize the interim CEO to accept the Roark quote; Commissioner Sarah Bunch seconded the motion. The commission voted in favor. "I would make a motion that we accept that quote and authorize the CEO to enter into that agreement," Whitaker said before the motion passed.
Key said staff recently completed a photo shoot for the new guide and that the guide production is progressing. Delivery timelines and distribution details were not part of the June 23 vote and will be handled by staff under the authorized contract.
No dissent was recorded; the motion passed by voice vote. The commission heard other operational updates but took no further related actions on guide distribution or additional print runs at the June 23 meeting.
