The Des Moines County Treasurer's office told the Board of Supervisors on June 17 that the county's annual tax sale, conducted online this year, drew 1,020 bidders and offered 409 parcels; 331 parcels sold, producing a little over $365,000 in proceeds.
“Took in 365,000, a little over 365,000 yesterday on the tax sale,” the treasurer’s representative reported to the board, noting the online format shortened the event compared with past in-person sales.
The board did not take further action on the report. The treasurer’s office said unsold parcels remain listed and that proceeds will be processed per county tax-sale procedures.
