RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Common Council adopted Ordinance 32-2025 on July 21, an appropriation ordinance amending the city’s 2025 budget.

The ordinance was reported favorably by the council’s finance committee, which told the council it had reviewed the ordinance previously and recommended approval. The ordinance was placed on second reading for a public hearing; no members of the public spoke for or against the ordinance during the hearing. After motions to engross and to call the question, the council approved the ordinance on a unanimous roll-call vote.

The presentation to council included no additional detail about specific line-item changes in the ordinance during the public hearing. Finance committee members indicated they had previously discussed oversight, maintenance and other implications with staff during a July 7 discussion.
