Council asks law department to draft stormwater access easement for 5340 West 160th

Brook Park — Council’s planning committee on June 10 advanced a request for a city stormwater access easement at 5340 West 160th Street so that city staff may access, inspect and maintain a retention basin as needed.

Councilman Poindexter described the request as a standard easement tied to E.L. Musty’s property in a U‑7B zoning district and said the planning commission reviewed it. “This gives us access; we’re not liable or required to maintain it. If we do see it needs to be maintained, it gives us the authority to do it and back‑charge the owner,” said engineer Ed Piatek during the planning‑committee discussion.
