The Bedford School Board unanimously accepted a $20,000 donation from Jersey Mike's to support activities at Riddle Brook School.

"I am here to formally ask that you accept a $20,000 donation on behalf of Jersey Mike's," said Matt Muncy, assistant principal at Riddle Brook School, who told the board the restaurant has supported the school’s family fun nights for three consecutive years.

Board members moved and seconded a motion to accept the gift; the chair called the vote and members answered "aye." Business administrator Lisa Ambrosio told the board the funds will be processed through the district finance office and monitored to ensure they are applied to playground outfitting and library furniture as planned.

The board did not attach conditions to the gift during the vote, and members expressed appreciation to Jersey Mike's and anonymous donors for the contribution.
