The Sumner County America 250 planning committee approved its agenda and appointed leadership for the newly formed committee. The committee approved the meeting agenda by voice vote, and members selected County Mayor John Isbell as chair and Commissioner Mark Harrison as vice chair by acclamation.

When the mayor asked for nominations for chair, a motion was made and seconded; the committee “moved forward by acclamation,” Isbell said. For vice chair, members nominated Mark Harrison and, after a second, the committee again confirmed the appointment by acclamation.

Committee members also agreed to hold subsequent meetings monthly on the third Thursday, with the mayor asking that email communications be used between meetings to develop action items and gather project ideas. The mayor said all meetings will be public and that video of meetings will be available for review.

Formal actions recorded in the meeting included approval of the agenda and the appointments of the chair and vice chair. Isbell said he will circulate meeting notes and an email group to increase communication between meetings.
