Canterbury Elementary repairs nearly complete; district reconciling change orders and savings

Good afternoon. SDI Engineering and district staff told the Edinburg CISD Facilities Committee on July 24 that reconstruction and remediation work at Canterbury Elementary is substantially complete ahead of the contractor’s July 30 deadline and that staff are reconciling final costs. The update matters because the work affects 16 classrooms, the library and shared spaces ahead of staff and teacher return; committee members pressed for a full accounting of change orders and outside costs before final payments are issued.
