The Hopkinton School Committee voted July 24 to accept six grants from the Hopkinton Education Foundation totaling $15,164.30 and to accept Project Shark donations of $386.81 for Marathon School.
Grants approved included district-level and building-specific awards: Marathon School received a Talkies professional-development grant ($4,715.50); Elmwood received two grants (youth mental health training, $2,449.96, and a Books for All purchase, $1,363.43); the middle school received a Critical Thinking through TQE grant ($2,167) and a pollinator garden grant ($618.38); and Hopkinton High School counselors received a Know Social Media / Digital Detox grant ($3,850). The committee approved the donations and grants as a block motion.
Project Shark donations for Marathon School — sensory toys and classroom materials valued at $386.81 — were accepted in a separate voice vote. Committee members thanked the Hopkinton Education Foundation and local donors for supporting school programs.
