The Committee on Parole revoked Jamie Haley’s parole at a hearing July 10, 2025, held via Calcasieu Correctional Center. The panel reviewed the arrest report and heard testimony from Haley and several family and community members who spoke on his behalf.
Haley said he called 911 and characterized the incident as the result of a heated argument involving his partner, who he said had stopped cancer medication and had grown aggressive. He denied assaulting the other adult and said he had called police to protect children at the scene. The officer’s report, however, included statements that Haley defied an officer’s instructions while being taken into custody.
Family members and supporters, including his mother Diana Thomas and others, urged the board to grant clemency; one community organization offered work and mentorship. After review and an executive session, the board voted to revoke Haley’s parole, citing failure of supervision and illegal conduct. The revocation was announced at 11:50 a.m.
